Chop this film into half its original length - it's easy, just take out the verbose 'multi-cultural' marriage celebrations - and you've got one of the best family dramas ever. Leave marriage celebrations to Mira Nair and the Yash Raj Group.
And BTW, Anne Hathaway isn't the only one who deserves an acting award here, Rosemarie DeWitt, Debra Winger and Bill Irwin all deserve a nod too. And please don't use handheld cameras unless necessary (read found-footage mockumentaries/extremely low budgets.
