Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Jonathan T — 18 Jan 2010
Rachel Getting Married is real life. That's all it is. It's a dysfunctional family like all families and a wedding like all weddings. So how is it interesting? It's so utterly honest that you can't believe there's a script, and it's so beautifully done you think you're there.
There's not much I can say about this film. It's so incredibly realistic. The low-budget feel makes it that much more effective. At points it's a but melodramatic and a little long (a LOT of wedding stuff), but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best films of the year.
