Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Cat B — 09 May 2010
Hathaway steps away from her usual leading lady roles and takes on a drug addict who comes out of rehab to attend her sister's wedding. She plays the role so well and deservedly is recognised by Oscars with a nomination.
It's a fascinating story which has very multi-layered characters and are a very believable dysfunctional family. The constant music in the household did get on my nerves slightly but it did not distract from the excellent performances and the interesting camera angles and movements, which made it more like a home movie than a film.
