Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Claire B — 22 Oct 2010
Nothing like I thought it would be, which is mostly a good thing. I suppose I was expecting a high budget, 'aimed at the Oscars' production, but was surprised by the hand held camera scenes and the authentic 'indie' feel about it.
I suppose I enjoyed it, as much as one can enjoy a sad and dysfunctional story like this, and yes, Anne Hathaway really did an outstanding job. Other than that, I can't really say there was anything special about the movie except that it dealt with some really tough issues and felt very real, but never really resolved those issues.
So we are left with a "that's life" ending.
