Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Martin I — 01 Feb 2011
Great performance from Hathaway as she steals the show.
A film full of tense and awkward scenes, Hathaway puts in an amazing performance as a recovering addict who's back for her sister's wedding. The dramatic scenes are great, with realistic dialogue and superb acting. However, a few scenes toward the end almost dampen the drive of the film and make the ending a damp squib. It's not a perfect film, but worth seeing for Hathaway and an extremely uncomfortable speech scene.
