Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Alvin Y — 27 Nov 2011
I enjoyed this film a lot! From the moment that the movie opens, I can feel one thing, Anne Hathaway is brilliant! She is more the center of this film and of course the wedding itself. I felt that the shaky cam works here so well unlike in any other sci-fi films, it feels like a home video style and the characters feels like they're real people indeed. At the moment it ended, I felt really relive to these people, and realize whoever it is to destruct the family, still it is a human being and must respect it no matter how he or she is doing.
And lastly, this should have been titled, Anne Hathaway not getting Oscar! Come on, she is really fit for that kind of role, and beyond that, this is one of the most realistic and honest films I've ever seen that sets in and out on a wedding celebration. This is how filmmakers should make movies today!
