Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Danh — 25 Nov 2008
I was reminded of the horror classic that had the tagline "Keep telling yourself it's only a movie..." Rarely has a drama made me this uncomfortable. Perhaps THE consummate dysfunctional family drama.
Yes, the wedding itself drug on too long, and it seemed a little unrealistic how things went from complete emotional chaos for most of the movie to peace, joy and group hugs the day of the wedding, but still a great piece of filmmaking.
Anne Hathaway and Rosemarie Dewitt are locks for Oscar nominations.
