Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Arseniy V — 14 Dec 2009
Dryheavingly lifelike. In a very good way. And if you say to me: "But its kind of sappy at times, isn't it?", I'll have to reply with the following. Calling a film "sappy" is just another way of saying that people therein appear vulnerable.
And here's the news. When those states of ours keep nipping away at our insides like flesh-eating bacteria - we all get vulnerable. This fact may be uncomfortable, but that certainly doesn't make it a fallacy.
Fake sap, manipulative sap - I'm no fan either. But, the sap found here, its the pure stuff baby.
