Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Andrew G — 29 Sep 2010
Rachel Getting Married is a film that I'd only heard good things about, so it was disappointing that it was only decent in my opinion. The film's plot gets dull after a while. Jonathan Demme's Direction is interesting; it's shot like a Professionally made Home Video.
It's an interesting take, and it makes the film feel more personal, but I wasn't crazy for it. For me what made me continue watching the film instead of switching it off halfway through was Anne Hathaway's performance.
She is incredible in this film, but it's not incredible as in inhuman; it's a deeply believable performance and Hathaway completely sells the character. It's her that makes this film a must-see for film buffs.
