Review of Race to Witch Mountain (2009) by Matt C — 11 Feb 2013
Forgettable, predictable; these are words I was hoping to not use, but I have to because they describe this film to an exact. The first half was kind of entertaining but then someone forgot to finish the script and pretty soon fifteen minutes have gone by and absolutely nothing has happened outside of a little foot chasing.
Really? You can't think up anything even a little more exciting? It was sloppy and unfortunate. I didn't give a shit about any of the characters, the music was godawful, and the story was useless.
The action offered up some decent escapes which made the movie bearable but this was a really weak effort from Disney who seemed to have wanted Bruckheimer to produce it. I guess he turned down there offer when he read the four pages they had for the entire script.
The best part of watching Race to Witch Mountain... the art department did an awesome job. I'd stopped paying attention to the movie and just looked at the sets. Nice going Whit.
