Review of Race to Witch Mountain (2009) by Tino R — 20 Mar 2011
Though vastly different from its 1975 source material, "Race to Witch Mountain" strikes a balance between family fun and slick action. What's lost is that classic Disney "magic," which gives way to elaborate CGI effects and explosive stunts from the Michael Bay School of Film.
The result is that the family bonds that provided the heart for the original film become something of a footnote here. Still, it's a fun popcorn movie, which is all it aspires to be.
