Review of Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown (1977) by David Z — 09 Jul 2008
Later attempts at bringing the PEANUTS gang to the screen proved that "nicer" animation did the Schulz characters a great disservice, so it's good to see that the rougher animation style was used here.
Not as charming or poignant as some of the other animated adventures of Charlie Brown, but there are still plenty of very funny moments (the water bed sequence is particularly memorable) and the journey to leadership Charlie Brown is quite effective.
This being a story about Charlie Brown, a happy ending isn't necessarily a give-in.
