The trailer for this was quite intriguing however this is a by the numbers biopic retelling the story if Jesse Owens quest for gold at the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany where parallels can be drawn between the persecution of the Jewish people and the struggles that black people were going through in America. However you feel that this is glossed over and never fully explored as is the story of Jesse Owen's as you never fully get to know the man beyond his athletic ability.
This was a competent but somewhat uninspiring film.
