Review of Rabbit, Run (1970) by Bill B — 26 Apr 2016
Okay, so I read the book and largely disliked the lead character Rabbit Angstrom, but wanted to try to check out this film to see if I was missing something, and I can report that I was not.
The lead is a whiny jerk-off whose life doesn't work out as expected and for some reason we're supposed to find it interesting that he abandons his dull wife and child (who is also pregnant again, I might add) to go chase pussy for a few months?
There's just no one in this shit to find compelling or sympathetic at all, and I puzzle over why it's such a fixture of American literature.
Pass, unless you're just a huge fan of the source material or the actors involved.
