Review of Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) by Karel P — 26 Jan 2009
A sombre and gripping road movie anchored in some pretty strong performances from very young child actors. It's well-directed, with some truly gorgeous shots of the Australian landscape. It remains tense, and is largely feel-good, despite the darkness of its subject matter.
However, at times it betrays its evidently low-budget roots. Still, a compelling human drama.
