Review of Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) by Cj H — 07 Jun 2007
This film is very impressive. I went along expecting some kind of "All whites are bastards" anthem but this wasn't the case at all. Neville is an arrogant chap indeed, but he's clearly not malevolent.
He means well but we get to see the raw devastation caused to Aboriginal children and their families. A lovely, educational film which doesn't appear to oversimplify or preach.
