Review of Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) by Kerrie B — 20 Jan 2008
A stunning movie about race and imaginary racial borders in 1930s Australia. Based on the true story of the Australian government policy to abolish the Black race, this is a story of resistance and survival.
The success of this movie is owed to the outstanding performances of Everlyn Sampi, Tianna Sansbury, and Laura Monaghan, who stunningly capture the survival strategies (intellectual, physical, and emotional )of the children who set out on a journey to cross Australia to return to their families.
