This movie is eye opening. It delivers an idea of the injustice that occurs in this world. In Australia there is a generation known as the ?Stolen Generation?. It occurred when the Chief Protector of the Aboriginal people decided that any child categorized as a half-caste, meaning half white and half native, should be given the opportunity to advance to the white population. They did not want an un-wanted third race because they would not be a part of the white culture or the Aboriginal culture. The chief Protector expressed that they were protecting the Aboriginal people from themselves.

In order to integrate them into the white culture they had be familiar with our customs. Papers were ordered and signed by the Chief |Protector to remove the children unwillingly from their families and taken to a camp known as Moore River. They literally ripped the children from their mother?s arms and took them away. At Moore River they were taught the customs of the white culture. They were forced to speak English, to pray, and to dress, and be proper.

This movie captures the story of three little girls from Jigalong, Molly, Gracie, and Daisy, that wanted to leave the camp and go home to their mothers. After a few days at Camp Moore they ran away on foot to make their way home. Through their knowledge of nature they were able to find food and hide their tracks from the man trying to catch them called the tracker. After many experiences and many miles they find themselves in the arms of their mother, but the story does not end there.

The Chief Protector kept his title for 25 years. The Aboriginal people and their families continued to suffer through the hands of the people intended to protect them until 1970. The same girls that grew into women that escaped from Camp Moore also had to experience the loss of their own children by the same Chief Protector.
