Review of Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) by Paula B — 11 Feb 2008
It's actually really hard to remember everything, because I watched it when I was about 12 and found it rather tedious, I think due to the fact it was mainly historical and more of an accurate true-to-life account.
Looking back , I think I would appreciate it more if I watched it again now than I did before. It dealt with some pretty heart-wrenching issues and it's hard to believe how some of these people were treated.
It certainly opened my eyes to what was happening in our neighbouring country not so long ago. Its cultural significance and portrayal of the amazing will and perseverance of a very determined young girl is superb.
Overall it's a really beautiful story and inspiring journey. Based on a true story.
