The story is amazing which makes this rather inert film very disappointing. The direction is very "paint by numbers" and on the whole the film was flat, despite strong performances. The biggest emotional punch comes at the end when you see footage of the "real life" protagonists and learn their fates.
Too little too late. This story deserved a better treatment.
