Review of Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) by Joerg H — 28 Jul 2009
A quiet film, probably too quiet for many, this film is part of an ongoing apology from the Australian film world for the things their country did to the Aboriginal people (see also: Australia.) The symbol of the title fence is terribly effective: it carries several meanings that compliment each other rather than contradict each other.
It's all filmed beautifully with great affection for its characters.
