Review of Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) by Stella G — 12 Sep 2010
I will start by stating that I enjoyed watching this movie. Although it?s sad, it gives you the true perspective of how people treat others because of their culture and beliefs. Even though the movie was done in 2002, this is still occurring, not only in Australia but all over the word Rabbit Proof Fence is a movie based on a true story that originated in Australia.
The movie is about how aborigine children were taken from their families to place them in border schools away from their culture, language, and beliefs in order to enforce them to learn new costumes. The main characters in this movie are three little girls (two sisters and their cousin).
The girls escape from the border school to try to get back their homes without any means of source but the Rabbit Proof Fence. On the way home they encounter many difficulties. This is a movie that I will definitely recommend to watch, it's very historical and a big eye opener.
