Review of Rabbit Hole (2010) by Michael C — 01 May 2011
I don't know that I've ever been more conflicted after watching a movie. I didnt really like this movie. I gave it 3 stars because as film making goes, its decent. but there was so much social awkwardness that even I, the queen if awkward, was uncomfortable.
how this was a play that people paid to see is beyond me. the devastating premise isn't something is want to see again...definitely not in a play. I can appreciate the attempt to integrate humor into the storyline, but the balance wasn't there.
nicole kidman's lips have ruined her chance for me to ever take her as a serious actor again. Aaron Eckhart was the best thing in the film. he played the raw, grieving father to perfection...this movie frustrated me because every other scene made me cry and when the short glimmer of humor peeked out, it tore your heart strings again.
I don't know if I didn't like this movie because of the plot, or the acting, or the awkwardness of it all. id be curious to see what you think...
