I saw the hindi version, and really loved the cinematography and over the top acting by all the main players (perhaps govinda went a little too far). Sure, it was a little contrived, some of the special effects were terrible, and the vague political setting should have been explained further, but its definitely entertaining for its 2 and half hour runtime.
...especially if you are interested in the ramayana.
