Review of Raajneeti (2010) by Vishal C — 12 Sep 2010
"Raajneeti" is a mostly enjoyable film, largely because it is well-acted, taut and packs in a generous dose of dramatic highs and twists. Though at times cliched, implausible and unexplained, it remains interesting enough for the most part to not feel like an unnecessarily lengthy film.
The highlights include a superb performance by Nana Patekar, ably supported by Ranbir Kapoor (consistent and assured) and Ajay Devgan (memorable despite an ordinary role). Arjun Rampal is unsually bearable and doesn't seem hopelessly out of place, like Katrina Kaif does during the majority of the film.
Manoj Bajpai fits in, without standing out. All in all, despite its disappointing climax and numerous flaws, this film does merits a one-time watch.
