Disappointing "swords & sandals" epic in my opinion. It appeared to have all the elements: recognizable actors, huge sets, sweeping Technicolor shots but it was still lacking.The one thing it had going for it is Peter Ustinov's OTT performance.
His scenes were fantastic; otherwise, the film seemed to drag and with a running time near three hours it seemed like an eternity.
