Review of Quo Vadis (1951) by Luis C — 02 Jan 2011
Despite the countless historical inaccuracies (Roman soldiers didn't wear plastic helmets), cheesy Christian propaganda and terrible leads (Robert Taylor makes Hayden Christensen look like Daniel Day Lewis), I found Quo Vadis enjoyable. It's not everyday you see Christian mannequins get torn to pieces by nonthreatening lions.
Peter Ustinov is fucking amazing as Nero. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that you should watch this film for his performance alone. It's that good.
