Review of Quiz Show (1994) by Andrew C — 10 Mar 2010
I thought this was an excellent movie, directed by Robert Redford. Based on the game show scandals of the 50's in which the networks/producers were accused of rigging their shows in order to gain bigger ratings.
This movie focuses in on the game show, Twenty-One, and it's most famous "contestant" Charles Van Doren (who took the heaviest blow from the scandal); played by the talented Ralph Fiennes.
A dramatic story and a dynamic cast which also included John Turturro, Rob Morrow, and a small role played by Martin Scorsese. Definitely one I would recommend to those who haven't yet seen it.
