Review of Quiz Show (1994) by Jenny W — 16 Sep 2012
The subject matter, at first glance, seemed like it would fall on the droll side. However, Quiz Show held it's own through fantstic acting and a strong sense of time & place. Every person in the film felt so real their emotions were almost tangible, and the concept of good guy v.
bad guy was challenged by forcing the audience to question what is wrong v. what is part of the entertainment industry. Redford also took the time to gently touch on the state of gentile/jew interactions of the 1950's in a very realistic way.
Anyone who choses this film will get just want they want out of it: an experience.
