Review of Quills (2000) by Nicola F — 04 Jun 2010
Please do not assume that this film is solely about the marquis de sade, it goes so so much deeper than that. Its a symbol of expressionism, liberty and integrity as well as delivering a delightful witty charm, that challenges your opinions and moral views throughout, probably due to a mixture of its hard to watch, erotic, and surprisingly amusing scenes.
The cast are excellent in their roles. They really bring out the raunchiness that this film relies on, and not just in the film alone, but within the viewer itself(i would like to take the opportunity to urge any true blood fans to take note of Stephen Moyer's appearence in this film.).
A very funny, emotive, challenging, and risqué film that is a real feast for the intellect.
