Review of Quills (2000) by Beth D — 21 Nov 2007
One of my favorite movies. The cast is amazing. Geoffrey Rush was robbed. I can't take my eyes off him. He is both subtle and over the top. It must have been exhausting. That the other actors keep up with him is really saying something, and they do it with great aplomb. I also like how it is the Priest who is a good guy and the Man of Science who is a bad guy. Plus I identify with Madeleine. "If I wasn't such a bad woman on the page, I'll hazard I couldn't be such a good woman in life.".
Definitely not for everyone as it deals with mature subjects.
