Review of Quills (2000) by Lyndon G — 02 Dec 2007
Geoffrey Rush is incomparable, and regardless of whether this movie presents anything like the real De Sade, it is absorbing and colorful and obscene. Also clever, inspiring. If anything its message is a bit heavy-handed, but really, Geoffrey Rush is amazing in this role--he was born specifically so he could star in it, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered leaving the womb.
