Review of Quills (2000) by Scott R — 22 Dec 2007
Extremely romantic movie depicting the Marquis de Saade as the protagonist (from my perspective) author pouring his soul onto paper in any way he can. He is constantly repressed by the emperor and the asylum in which he's been sentenced to life, but still manages to express himself in ever more self-demeaning ways.
Meanwhile a side plot has one of the asylum orderlies (or was he a priest?) falling in erotic love with the laundry girl that helps De Saade transport his work to the publisher.
