Ultimately disappointing and gross at points.; yeah the marquis de sade was a hedonist but this movie is so grossly over the top that even that fact of his personality gets lost in the muddle of it all.
the performances of winslet and phoenix seems forced and their chemistry with each other seems lacking. this one shouldnt of been greenlit at all! :(.
