Review of Quills (2000) by Tony B — 01 May 2009
The movie itself I would only give 3 stars if it weren't for Geoffrey Rush. He's really something else in this one, stealing every scene with his flamboyance and biting one-liners, he's really a joy to watch in this role.
This film had the potential to be another boring period drama, but it grabs your attention and won't let go. The Academy messed up again, passing on Rush for Best Actor for the remarkably average Russell Crowe in Gladiator.
