Matthew Quigley (Tom Selleck), is a cowboy and sharpshooter from America with a keen eye and a specially modified rifle, a 1874 Sharps Buffalo Rifle, with which he can shoot accurately at extraordinary distances. He answers a news paper advertisement that asks for men with a special talent in long distance shooting with four words: "Matthew Quigley 900 yards" written on a copy of the advertisement, punctuated by several closely spaced bullet holes. After he has arrived in Australia and met the man who hired him, Elliot Marston (Alan Rickman), Quigley understands that Marston has hired him to kill off Aborigines, not animals. Quigley refuses and ends up being a hunted man...

Been keen on seeing this movie for sometime, and I reckon the experience was ok. Always liked Tom Selleck and his interpretation of Quigley is pretty good. Laura San Giacomo is not too bad as Crazy Cora (she was quite stunning back then) and Alan Rickman does what he does best. All in all, having lived in Australia, there is a big bonus for me storywise, but "Quigley Down Under" is still nothing special. Ok, but not much more.
