Review of Quick Change (1990) by James M — 15 Jul 2007
Well written, cleverly directed, hilarious fun. Some of the wickedest, dirtiest lines imaginable - all spouted with a strange mix of downbeat resignation and shameless verve by Bill Murray. Has great pace to it, helped along by a playful, jazzy score from Randy Edelman and top notch supporting acts from Jason Robards, Randy Quaid and Geena Davis.
But this is Murray's movie - his timing never better, his genius (and missed potential) all in show, as he directed as well as starred in this overlooked gem. Not for everyone, but certainly one of my favourites.
'I think you're just afraid to party with a real man'...
