Review of Quick Change (1990) by Kris C — 05 Sep 2005
Three Comedies, Coming Up.
I watched all of these with on demand digital cable. A Cool feature. Doesnt have much available buttthese movies wernt too bad to see finally.
First up is Roxanne. Steve Martin's 1987 romantic comedy. Not brilliant by any means, it's merely a modern day tale of Cyrano Debirgirac. God knows how to spell that. Anyways, a fun flick with some really great cinematography. The town they shot it in looks quite beautiful. Steve Martin was great in this flick, Darryl Hannah was kind've dull, but it made for a fun 80s flick.
Quick Change, I beleive was Bill Murray's first movie that he directed. It is a great debut for the comedy actor. It reminds me of an earlier Martin Scorsesse movie. It has alot of great comedy moments and the way every character ends up playing off against the other till the end of the movie is really great. I had no idea this was going to be such a good movie.
Private Resort is American Pie without the plot. Really, theres no reason for anything to be happening, it's just chicks flahsing their tops and Johnny Depp and another guy who's so unimportant I don't remember his name. Despite all this, it's not necessarily a bad mindless flick, but you can only make so much plot out of flashing breasts.
