Review of Querelle (1982) by Tim J — 04 Jun 2007
This is a flawed but fascinating film, based upon a Jean Genet novel and directed by Fassbinder. It's worth seeing just for the stylized production design and Jeanne Moreau's fabulous performance of "Each Man Kills the Thing he Loves.
" But there are also intriguing statements about gay desire and identity.
