Review of Queen Margot (1994) by Viken M — 19 Feb 2008
When the French tell their history, they inbed it with an authenticity that speaks that is almost anti-romantic. They are so critical of their past, more so than any other national cinema I've seen.
This film is bloody and gorgeous at the same time. Though many were not impressed with Adjani as the lady of the castle, as she was later known in the south, I think she brings a vulnerability and cruelty that is .
..well cinematic.
