Review of Quatermass and the Pit (1967) by Pete S — 26 Oct 2012
Easily the best of the Quatermass films, and Andrew Keir is easily the best Quatermass (with very solid support from James Donald and Julian Glover). This is almost certainly the template for the Earth-based revamp of Doctor Who that was completed by 1970.
Never mind that the climax is poorly explained pseudo-religion; dramatically, it works.
