Billy Connelly and Pauline Collins carry this nicely directed tale of famous musicians attempting to stay relevant in their golden years. Maggie Smith is wonderful as usual, but her character in Quartet is outshone by her own brilliant performance earlier in the year with The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
