Review of Quartet (2012) by Marjie B — 04 Jan 2013
This is an absolutely charming film about a group of elderly folk who live in an aged care facility for Retired Musicians. It deals with the problems of getting old head on but with a great deal of humour.
Yes, it's an ensemble piece but Pauline Collins and Maggie Smith have the best scenes. The music is gorgeous and please stay for the credits which are real history lesson in the careers of the real opera singers and actors who starred in the film.
