Review of Quartet (2012) by Matthew F. J — 10 Feb 2013
This is a really well shot ,acted & directed film. Of course it's not a big film filled with action and all, quite the opposite actually. It's like a good old vintage wine that you need to taste and appreciate because the themes in it are universal, timeless & remarkably well put together.
I really enjoyed this film because it made me think of my own life and choices and fuck up moment s I have encounters, it's not very often that you see a film that makes you wonder how it's gonna be for you when you are old? Will you have some regrets about mistakes you've done? People you disregarded? Things you should have done differently? Yes it happens to everyone and yes we all have these feelings.
.. but this film is greatly done & is full of warmth, life , joy & hope for the future. Yes you can be old, still have dreams, still encounter challenges & it's never too late to let go of your old demons.
