Review of Quartet (2012) by Yuval C — 22 May 2013

For me a huge disappointment in terms of comedy. There just wasnt enough funny moments and whatever was funny was ruined by already being in the trailer. Song For Marion had a lot more comedic moments and a more dramatic undertone aswel but this is a good albeit flawed film.

Billy Connoly provides one of the films standout scenes where he is telling off a stuck up Maggie Smith but for me the film was stolen by the sublime Pauline Collins, her portrayal of Cissy was very moving.

Worth a rent.
