Review of Quartet (2012) by Paul K — 17 Jan 2014
Another bit of BBC British arts luvviedom. It certainly celebrates old age and its achievements and challenges, and has the sense not to show the actors performing the music, or the musicians doing too much acting.
Tom Courtenay has the standout performance, while Billy Connolly persists in being Billy Connolly, and an unconvincing opera singer. A good bit of fun, but not greatly incisive. A good plot but not one that remains after viewing.
