When Daniel Craig was to be the new James Bond I personally thought, can he better Brosnan. In Casino Royale, YES he certainly did. Daniel Craig took the Ian Fleming Bond and made him the proper Bond that Fleming had written about all along. Casino Royale was the creme de la creme of Bond films. This was and is a great film, if not the best Bond film ever.

Quantum Of Solace on the other hand, well. Marc Forster the new director at the helm of lets be honest the biggest movie franchise in movie making history. His credits include 'The Kite Runner' (haven't seen) and 'Monster's Ball' (again haven't seen). Unfortunately these titles don't cry action to me. The other major part of this film is the person who writes it - Paul Haggis - Famous for the incredible film 'Crash'. Again his tiles don't cry action. These two people are a major part of the film and unfornately the biggest letdowns of the film. How can you direct an action film if you have never made one and the same applies to writing one.

I'm not making Quantum Of Solace out to be awful, but just empty. The action sequences are the only great part of this film and to be honest are the only things that will make you watch it as well. Daniel Craig is very good and watchable as the boyfriend seeking revenge for the death of his girlfirend.

Finally Quantum Of Solace is very watchable and has some great action scenes in it but if you want a Bond film with action and a storyline, then this is the worst Bond film ever, saved only by Craig and his brilliant Bond character and the relentless action. It's a real shame as well cos this one had great potential. Lets hope the next one (out 2011) is on par with Casino Royale and better. My rating 4/5.
