Review of Quantum of Solace (2008) by Tim B — 10 Apr 2013
James Bond (Daniel Craig), still reeling after the events of the previous movie, is set up against a seemingly altruistic businessman who harbors an insidious agenda. The diabolical plot, which concerns a coup d'etat in Bolivia, is complicated by CIA complacency and a rogue agent (Olga Kurylenko) with her own axe to grind.
Quantum of Solace is very heavy on fights, vehicular chases, and other action sequences that make bountiful use of jump-cuts. It doesn't really work as its own piece, but it's enjoyable enough if one considers it an extension to (the much superior) Casino Royale.
