Review of Quantum of Solace (2008) by Jacob C — 12 Dec 2014
One of the most ridiculously under-appreciated Bond films, Quantum of Solace is an emotionally satisfying, artfully photographed and action-packed sequel to Casino Royale that will likely become something of a cult-classic.
As a character study, this is one of the most interesting movies in the cannon--Bond is unhinged, drunk and enraged by the death of the only girl he ever really loved; it's a departure for the character, but one that gives us Craig's best performance as Bond.
Combine that with a wonderfully creepy villain and one of the best Bond Girls, and you've got a movie that I really hope critics will one day re-examine.
