Review of Quantum of Solace (2008) by James W — 16 Jan 2014

More fun and full on than Casino Royale and just that little bit better than Skyfall, Quantum Of Solace packs loads of explosive action sequences to keep you gripped. Marc Forster's direction is excellent, this film has a fresh feeling to it and the look of the film is stunning throughout, especially the wildly edited action.

Forster has given Bond a motive for vengeance which is great, it reminds me of Dalton in Licence To Kill. 007 is back seeking payback as he travels around the world on an exciting mission that features plane, car, boat and foot chases in several exotic locations.

This film features the most thrilling story in a Bond film and a scheming villain played by the excellent Matthieu Amalric, and Olga Kurylenko & Gemma Arterton play the hottest and best Bond girls since Ursula Andress & Daniela Bianchi.

The soundtrack is fantastic, and it's integral to every scene whether it be high speed chases or dialogue scenes, it's so memorable. Quantum kicks ass, it is the best film of 2008 and stands tall in the Bond franchise.
